The liberation of the camps at the end of World War II has often been portrayed as a singular rapturous juncture. The authors in this volume collectively underscore the necessity of reconceptualizing liberation in a manner that transcends triumphalist narratives, foregrounding instead the inherent complexity, variability, and frequently tragic limitations confronted by Jewish Holocaust survivors in the »aftermath« of genocide.
